Eco Home Plans brings you green home plans designed by architects. Our home plans all have high performance energy efficient walls roofs and floors. Our designs are reaching for zero energy fossil fuel use.

Our plans are designed with passive solar energy and very tight energy efficient "skins" which requre very little heating and cooling in most climates. They are designed to be sun facing passive solar collectors in addition to comfortable well designed homes.

Our plans come with green specification guidlines, to assist you to get the green home you want. These guidelines include a description of the energy efficient skin, high performance and reasonably priced windows and doors, and recomendations for heating and cooling systems.

This fun home has a simple elegance that will wear well with time.

A great room open to the environment. Covered court yard and uncovered out door spaces are adjacent the Great Room. The master bedroom is across the court yard and above it creating a home with a bridge.

The second bedroom suite can be converted into a garage or studio/office area.

Note the "solar room" with Trombe wall, the major passive solar heat collecting element.

The structural system is a type of Structural Insulated Panel. These panels have a 5" EPS (expanded polystyrene) core with 1½" sprayed on concrete each side, giving a panel thickness of 8". These panels are stronger, more durable, and considerably more energy efficient than wood or steel stick framing methods and as an added benefit they reduce construction time.
