1-day Design Class and Workshop
Designing with Bamboo

Schedule:
Introductory Lecture : 10.00 am – 12.00 pm
Workshop : 1.00 pm – 03.00 pm
Lecture & Discussion : 03.00 pm – 18.00 pm
In this course, tutors will explain characteristic of bamboo for building, and how to design with bamboo from the book written by Jules Janssen that is entitled “Building with Bamboo” and the book written by Heinz Frick that is entitled “Ilmu Konstruksi Bangunan Bambu”. These two books will be the introduction of the course. The second presentation is about the performance, the details, and the joint of bamboo building from the book written by Andry Widyowijatnoko that is entitled “Traditional and Innovative Joints in Bamboo Construction”. This session followed with a workshop of detail design scheme by participants for 2.5 hours.
The tutors will share his practice and experiment about designing with bamboo. The session followed by a workshop for interpreting Simon Velez and adapt its operation into the design.

The tuition fee is IDR 200.000,-. You will get design kit and other facilities for the course purpose including seminar book.

About the tutor :
Mukoddas Syuhada graduated a bachelor degree from Architecture Major Bandung Institute of Technology in 2001 and Master degree from Civil Engineering Pelita Harapan University. In 2008, He initiated Tapak Bumi Village. In 2010, He established IMPRES (Implementing Renewable Energy Society). In 2011, He established Banten Creative Community. In 2012, he established Akademi Bambu Nusantara that held bamboo workshop routinely. Currently, he is a Secretary of City Planning and Settlement of South Tangerang City, a Caretaker Head of Municipal for Environment and he is also chief of Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia Banten.
